Fundraiser

The Military Support Group of NJ Inc. (MSGNJ) has two upcoming opportunities to raise funds for our deployed troops – the monies go toward items for the care packages that we send out each month & the cost of postage. 

1. we will hold our Second Annual  Bowling Fundraiser on SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2012, at 30 Strikes Bowling Lanes, White Horse Pike, in Stratford, NJ 08084.   This family-style event includes Live DJ Music with Billy Johns (formerly of WIFI 92FM), BowlingPizza and Soda for 2 hours - 12noon to 2pm.   You can even bring snacks along (no alcohol, please) Tickets are $15 and available NOW.  Please bring your family, friends, etc.  for a fun afternoon and a chance to support our troops!  Tickets can be purchased at our monthly meeting on May 10th (at Chews United Methodist Church 6:30pm to 9pm) or contact Army Mom  Marcelle Shriver at ron101abn@comcast.net
2. The PBA (Policemen’s Benevolent Assn Local 105) along with POSSI (PA Owners of SS Impala) are holding their First Annual Springtime Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show - Sunday, May 27th, 10am to 4pm at Stone Grille Restaurant, 1300 Blackwood-Clementon Rd., Clementon NJ 08021,to benefit the troops. They will donate the proceeds to the MSGNJ!   The show is Free to attendees
If you wish to show your car, motorcycle or truck, preregistration is $15 prior to May 20th, $20 day of show.Contact Jesse at 856-986-6777.

Our friend, LT COL Brian Scully has asked for a welcome home for a friend.  He is throwing him a welcome home party this Friday evening at the Coronel’s house.  He asks if its possible to honor his friend, Senior Airman Brett Bellemore who just returned from a second tour which was in Iraq.  His first deployment was in Afghanistan.  He also has been to Kuwait.

Here is the Senior Airman’s bio per the LT Col:

Brett Bellemore enlisted in the US Air Force right out of his Arizona High School in July 2008.  He is currently stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.  He has had multiple deployments as listed above.  Among his many duties, he is responsible for the honorable and dignified transport of fallen soldiers.

His military awards include:  AMC Aerial Port Passenger Service Professional of the Year 2010, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan and Iraqi Campaign Medals, the Meritorious Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

His personal time is spent with his wife and best friend, Amanda, and being very involved in many church activities and playing the trumpet for church services and other patriotic events.

We are looking for our friends on motorcycles, our Evesham Fire-Rescue, and the Yellow Ribbon Club to show how we  HONOR to our TROOPS in NJ!!!!!!!!!

  • Lance Corporal James Kalbach is a Purple Heart Recipient.
  • Returning from his first tour in Afghanistan
  • He is 23 years old and engaged to girlfriend Elizabeth.
  • He grew up in South Philadelphia and now resides with Elizabeth and her family.
  • He has been in the US Marine Corps almost 3 years
  • He is a HUGE Phillies fan and can’t wait to go on a very much needed vacation trip to Disney World.

Friends, Family, The Warriors Watch, The Yellow Ribbon Club, The New Jersey State Police, The Gloucester City Police Department, The Gloucester City Fire Department, and Gloucester City and others will be on hand to make some noise and welcome home this Hero in Rock Star style.

Please come out to welcome home Senior Airman Anthony Guddo, Staff Sergeant Brian Cooke, and Staff Sergeant Nathan Hollanderfrom their deployment in Afghanistan.

  • Senior Airman Anthony Guddo is a 2002 graduate of Deptford High School.
  • He is a Crew Chief for fighter jets.
  • He was deployed twice in support of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom operations.
  • He recently deployed to Afghanistan from December 2011 to end of February 2012.
  • His first deployment included a deployment to United Arab Emirates with Air Force Recon Operations in support of Iraq and Enduring Freedom Operations.
  • Staff Sergeant Brian Cooke is a 2002 graduate of Deptford High School.
  • He has been deployed twice in support of Iraq Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
  • He does operations work for NJ Air National Guard in a full time position maintaining a fleet of fighter jets for the NJ Air National Guard for local and national security operations.
  • His first deployment was to Iraq and his second deployment was to Afghanistan.
  • Staff Sergeant Nathan Hollander is a 2002 Graduate of Buena High School.
  • He has been deployed three times in support of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom operations.
  • He is a Crew Chief of fighter jets for the 177th fighter wing, Atlantic City airport.
  • His current job is as a Journeyman Union HVAC Technician.

Friends, Family, The Warriors Watch, The Yellow Ribbon Club, The New Jersey State Police, The Borough of Westville Police Department, The Borough of Westville Fire & Rescue Department, The Borough of Westville and others will be on hand to make some noise and welcome home this Hero in Rock Star style.

  • Frank was born in Stratford, NJ and grew up in Sicklerville, NJ.
  • Frank graduated at the top of his class from St. Augustine Prep School in 2005 and received a Presidential Scholarship to George Washington University.
  • Frank graduated Cum Laude from George Washington University in 2009.
  • The summer between his Junior and Senior years of college, he attended OCS (Officer Candidate School) in Quantico, Va.
  • After graduating GWU, he was sworn in as an Officer in The USMC on July 3, 2009.
  • Frank attended TBS (The Basic School) in Quantico in 2009.
  • Frank’s MOS is an Officer.
  • Frank is now returning from a 7 month deployment in Afghanistan (Camp Leatherneck – Helmand Province).
  • Grandfather, Alex Mastrando was a Corporal in The U.S. Army and served during the Korean War from 1953 – 1955
  • Cousin Leonard Nester was a Sgt in the Army National Guard and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom
  • Mother Anna, Father Frank, Brothers Tom and Jack, and all of Frank’s family eagerly await Frank’s return and hope you are able to join us in the this celebration and make some noise!
