Military Support Group of New Jersey Inc.
The Military Support Group of New Jersey Inc., a non-profit organization, was started in September of 2004 and continues today as a vibrant group of volunteers.
Not only do wives, husbands, friends, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts & uncles of deployed men & women of all branches of the Military, attend the group meetings, but many veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam & the Gulf Wars join in, as well.
We support our deployed troops by collecting small toiletry items, snacks, food, entertainment items and we send care packages weekly to our men & women currently serving overseas.
We collect new afghan blankets & quilts for our injured men & women in military hospitals in Baghdad, Germany & in the USA. New clothing is sent to MASH units in Baghdad. Members of the group write letters & cards to our deployed men & women. We participate in local NJ Veterans events collecting clothing, toiletries & by volunteering. We support Veterans Haven, Veterans hospitals & Veterans Homes with baked goods, supplies, & clothing as needed. Every month we attend military homecomings, welcoming home the men & women who serve.
In addition to all of the support we provide by our attendance, goods or monetary collections, we also help one another through our fear of having a loved one in a war. Those who served, offer their experience to those of us whose love one now serves!
The Military Support Group of NJ Inc. is truly a mission that provides love & support not only to the men & women who currently serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, but to all Veterans, their families & friends.
The group meets on the second Thursday of each month from 7pm to 9pm, at Chews United Methodist Church, 319 Black Horse Pike (Rt. 168), Glendora (AKA Gloucester Twp) NJ. (Church phone: 856-939-1007) and is open to anyone who cares about & wants to help our military.
